RELA invites original, scholarly articles that discuss the education and learning of adults from different academic disciplines, perspectives and traditions. It encourages diversity in theoretical and methodological approach and submissions from non-English speakers. Contributions will be subject to a rigorous peer review process. Clarity and conciseness of thought are crucial requirements for publication.
The Seminar will focus on Transforming /Researching Communities. In a traditional view the first step to carry out Local Development processes is to research on the community and people’s desires and needs and then acting over the community, not necessarily using participative methodologies.
General Objectives

The Network supports research and practice in training throughout Europe. It provides:
– Access to people and ideas about research and training practice;
– Practical materials and tools to support the professional development of trainers;
– A web-site packed with information and a communication platform for exchanging ideas.
SEALLL was a Grundtvig 1 project, part of the European SOCRATES educational programme and aimed to improve the quality of teaching and learning and the quality of organisation and management in LLL by promoting and supporting self-evaluation. The project wanted to help all 'players' in LLL-organisations self-evaluate their teaching, learning and management.
Guy Tilkin (Alden Biesen, Belgium) and Jaap Van Lakerveld (PLATO, Leiden, The Netherlands) will present the project and its outcomes: the SEALLL manual and tool and will demonstrate its approach to quality care in adult learning www.SEALLL.eu
This project focus on the fabrication of adults as learners drawing on a poststructuralist theo-rization, where concepts such as governmentally, technology of the self are mobilized (in-spired by the writings of e.g. Michel Foucault). The project is funded by the Swedish research council and is conducted by Associate Professor Andreas Fejes. The project started in the middle of 2007 and continues until the end of 2011.
